Every consignor wants the same answer: "how much do I actually get?" Below is what consignment payouts really look like in 2026 across the major card auction houses and submission services — and the fees that quietly come out before your check clears.
Typical fee structures
| Channel | Seller fee | Buyer's premium | Your effective payout |
|---|---|---|---|
| Major auction houses (Goldin, PWCC) | 0-20% | 20% | ~80-100% of hammer (but on a lower hammer) |
| eBay (self-managed) | ~13.25% + payment | 0% | ~86% |
| White-glove consignment shops | 15-25% | 0% | 75-85% |
| BlackJadedWolf consignment | Sliding 10-20% | 0% | 80-90% |

Hidden fees most consignors miss
- Grading pass-through. If the shop grades the card first, you usually pay the PSA fee (~$36 on Value tier). See PSA grading cost.
- Photography / lotting. Some auction houses charge $5-$25 per lot.
- Insurance. 1-2% of declared value at major auction houses.
- Payment processing. 2-3% on eBay-style platforms.
- Reserve fees. If your card doesn't meet reserve, some houses charge 5% of reserve.
Apples-to-apples comparison
A card that hammers for $1,000 at an auction house with a 20% buyer's premium = $833 hammer to the consignor before the 20% seller fee = $667 net. The same card sold for $1,000 through our consignment program pays the consignor $850 (85% tier, no buyer's premium).
